Hello! I am Theekshi, an Interior Designer with a passion to create spaces that are comfortable, functional and personal. In 2016, I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University’s overseas campus in Qatar and earned a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.

I was born in Sri Lanka, but was raised and lived in Qatar for 21 years. Living in Qatar opened up opportunities to study, travel and work among people of many nationalities.

It was in college that I really got to appreciate the impact that designers can have, when I took part in service-learning trips to work on humanitarian projects in countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and Greece. I saw first hand the value of good design, especially in constrained environments.

In 2017, I started working as an in-house designer for the Communication & Interior Design team at IKEA Qatar. Creating solutions for small space living, catering to the needs of people of various backgrounds and designing functional commercial and residential spaces were just a few of the many things that were a part if the IKEA Concept which aligned with what I care about doing as a designer.
